Drone: Teejays
The original drone name is Crazyflie 2.0. It came with multiple components that our number group, 16, had to build on our own. Our drone is unique because we didn't have a normal sticky pad like everyone else so we had to use a pink sticker letter. We had to cut up the letter D to fit so that it would protect the battery from heating the circuit board up, which actually makes our drone stylish and fashionable. Also our name makes it really unique because its our names combined together but, spelled differently and it could also stand for the Jay bird. A cool thing is that the Jay bird is blue and our drone has blue lights when it powers on and flies.
What is a drone? Drones are formally know as Unmanned Ariel Vehicle (UAV) and basically is a flying robot. The drone could be remotely controlled or fly autonomously through software programming. Our project is about programming/ building our own drone.
There has been lots of discussion about how drone are a disturbance to our society and yes they're have been some incidents but, we don't take the time to appreciate the cool and helpful things drones contribute to this world. Like how they can deliver humanitarian aid, have a eye in the sky, take amazing footage, and there are some cool drones that do unique things based on the drone. Like stunt drones, ambulance drones, music drones, and many more. Unfortunately the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) has strict regulations on drones. "President Barack Obama ordered a barrage of CIA drone strikes in Yemen in 2013 that killed the al-Qaida operatives behind the most serious plotting against American interests in years" - Ken Dilanian
